[HAMAI has entered into the CMP
industry]
HAMAI started Original-Equipment Manufacturing (OEM) of CMP through
the tie-up with Meiji Machine Co., Ltd.
Capital was increased on February 16, 2001 by issuing new
stock allocated Meiji Machine Co., Ltd., Fuji
Machine Mfg. Co., Ltd., HOYA Corporation, and Mitsutoyo
Corporation.
About half of the capital increase of yen 650 million will
be used to construct clean booths at Ashikaga facility.
We will continue to strive for highest quality products, ultra-precision
polishing machine, through synergetic effects of our prowess in lapping machines and the CMP technology.

Polishing pads "HPC Series"
We have developed and started supplying urethane pads and non-woven fabrics as new HPC series containing
cerium oxide, HPC90D, and adrasive-free, HPC90NC to the glass and quartz crystal industries.
The HPC series feature higher hardness and resistance to damage than conventional pads.
Non-woven fabric HPC86NWF has been developed for silicon wafer and LN/LT use. Each has a maxumum pad size of
1,800mm x 1,800mm capable through handling.
Please try the HPC series pad, developed by Hamai, -we know the lapping machine- to improve the polishing surface roughness, and better flatness.

New product: duplex NC milling machine: 1DS-A
1DS-A is applicable to four-surface milling of small workpieces down to 20mm x 20mm (standard) and to 10mm x 10mm
(optional). Maximum workpiece is 300mm x 300mm.
Unlike the conventional larger models, the 1DS-A allows the operator to
operate the machine from the front, enabling easier setup such
as work changing..
