In lapping and polishing, hard and brittle workpieces are prone to damage such as scratches and cracks.
Situation is worsened by the constant vibration of the drive. We have developed hydrodynamic plain bearing to segregate the trasmission of this vibration.
As shown in the diagram, the lower plate support (a) is
separated from the bottom part(b) of hydrodynamic plain bearig (c). As (a) rotates,
dynamic pressure is developed and causes (a) to rise. The fluid film thus cuts off the vibration.
The Hamai patented hydrodynamic plain bearing is maintenance-free and has a semi permanent life ensuring improved processing accuracy and efficiency.

The lapping plates of lapping machines using epicycle gear
suffers from degrading flatness as process time progresses.
the main reason for this is the carrier's constant uni-directional rotation.
On our machines, the carrier alternatively rotates clockwise and counter-clockwise during lapping..
This maintains constant table flatness hence the lapping accuracy. (This is a standard
equipment in machines with 2-motor, or above drives)
The models with 3-motor or more can control the carrier rotation
and revolution speeds, This enables the parameters for rotation and revolution
to be set according to the workpieces.

As the upper table of the 4-way system rotates, it results in
unsatisfactory behavior and poor load tracking during lapping/polishing operation.
The 3-way system has achieved the satisfactory load tracking and
uniform load, the inherent attributes of upper table, by making it non-rotating.
Further, the wire-suspension system used as the flexible
link mechanism that slides in parallel with the lower table allows no deviation in the load distribution
in a batch.
Also, the suspension wires absorbs the micro vibration, enabling constant
lapping/polishing of workpieces in a natural stress-free state.

"Dry hobbing" refers to gear hobbing without any use of cutting
oil. The machine can run with the hob circumferential
speed of 300 - 500 mm/min. using a carbide hob cutter.
The merits of dry cutting are increased productivity due to high-speed cutting,
simplified process by hobbing hardened workpieces, reduced cost due to no cutting oil
being used, improved work environment, etc... Dry cutting drastically reduces your production
costs.
N60 is capable of dry hobbing at up to 5,000 min-1, 5 - 7 times the
conventional machines. The machine, when equipped with a spindle-cooling device,
is a high stiffness, high precision hobbing machine assuring exceptionally stable hobbing accuracy.

The index table swivels 90°on a CURVIC coupling with an angular error
wihin 5 seconds. it enables operation maintaining the perpendicularity without having to
change the setup because workspiece is indexed while being clamped.

jig fixture and index table are standard equipment for 1DS-A and
optional for 2DS-A or larger machines).
